We support our clients throughout the entire buying process – from the first ideas and budget considerations to shortlisting suitable yachts, inspections and the final decision. While we can step in at almost any stage, the best results are usually achieved when we are involved from the very beginning.
Starting early allows us to filter the market for you and rule out unsuitable listings before they turn into serious candidates. This saves time, avoids unnecessary inspections and helps keep the process clear and focused. Our clients can then concentrate on yachts that truly fit their requirements.
By guiding the process from start to finish, we provide a clear structure and a consistent thread throughout the search. This ensures that all relevant questions are addressed at the right time and nothing important is overlooked. In our experience, trying to skip individual steps rarely works well. A complete, well-managed approach is the most reliable way to achieve a strong result.

In which regions do you operate?

We work throughout Europe, covering both northern and southern cruising areas. We are regularly on the move and can often arrange short-notice visits when a yacht becomes interesting. 
Our focus is Europe, including the Mediterranean, the Baltic, the Atlantic coast, the UK and Turkey. The European second-hand market is large and diverse, with a wide range of yachts, strong boatbuilding traditions and generally good value. In practice, almost every type of sailing yacht can be found within this region. Also Europe offers very good infrastructure for boating, with well-equipped marinas, maintenance facilities and a strong network for yacht services.

Do I need sailing experience to buy a yacht?

Not necessarily. Many of our clients begin their boat search with little or no prior experience — and that’s perfectly normal. Everyone starts somewhere. What matters most is preparing carefully and gradually building experience, for example through focused sailing practice and owner training, with one of our skippers fpr example - on your then newly purchased yacht.
Owning and cruising a boat involves more responsibility than simply hoisting sails or docking. The key is to gain confidence step by step, so you can enjoy your yacht safely and fully.

How long does a boat search usually take?

Accepted Answer

The duration of a yacht search depends on the market, the season, and your individual criteria. Some strong candidates can appear within a few days, while other searches take longer, especially if multiple viewings or surveys are needed. On average, our searches take around 6 to 8 months.
For planning purposes, we usually recommend allowing a time budget of about a year. This provides enough room to benefit from network advantages, such as yachts that return to us from previous clients or special insights from brokers within our network. The more time you allow, the higher the likelihood of finding the right boat.
Buying under time pressure is rarely ideal — it’s better to plan ahead. That said, some purchases can certainly happen more quickly, which is why it’s best to get in touch as early as possible. We work until the right yacht is found, and our support is not tied to viewings or surveys — the goal is always a yacht that truly fits you.

Are you really independent?

Yes. We never represent both buyers and sellers at the same time. Our guiding principle is simple: we act according to clear principles and take our responsibilities seriously. Honesty, authenticity, and integrity are central to how we work. We want to stay true to ourselves and be able to look in the mirror every morning.
By always working exclusively for one side, we ensure full fairness and transparency throughout the entire process. This approach allows our clients to trust that every recommendation and decision is made solely in their best interest.

Do you support both sailing and motor yachts?

Our focus is clearly on sailing yachts. Motor yachts are not our field — but we’re happy to connect you with trusted experts from our network if needed.

Can I hire you only for inspections or negotiations?

Accepted Answer

While it is possible to involve us at specific points, our experience shows that most challenges in buying a yacht arise long before an inspection or negotiation — often during the selection process or under the purchase conditions.
A holistic approach allows us to ensure that every aspect of the yacht and the process truly fits your goals and needs. Each situation is unique, so we always look at what makes sense for you individually. Getting in touch early gives you the clearest guidance and the most reliable results, even if later you only need support with inspections or negotiations.

Question 8

What if we don’t find a suitable sailing yacht?

Accepted Answer

We’ll always give you a realistic assessment of how well your criteria and budget match the current market. We can’t work miracles when it comes to availability. In most cases, small adjustments to the criteria are enough to move things forward.
Our longest boat search lasted over two years because the right yacht simply wasn’t on the market at the time. When it finally appeared, we were the first on board and our client was able to secure it right away. And if your plans change along the way, of course we can talk about it — we’re all human.

Can I contact you even after the purchase?

Of course. Many of our clients stay in touch with us for years — whether it’s about technical questions, refits, equipment, training, or trusted service partners.
Because we often share an intensive and close process during the yacht search, it’s always a pleasure to hear from our clients afterward. We love receiving updates and photos, to see how they are enjoying their new yacht and how their adventures are progressing.
